Dear Customers,

We would like to alert you to an ongoing scam where individuals are fraudulently impersonating Cheapbills and attempting to collect personal information.

Currently, we are aware of the following scams:

1. Cold Call Impersonation Scam

Scammers are contacting customers via unsolicited phone calls.
Please note:

  • CheapBills does not make cold calls, especially to numbers listed on the Do Not Call Register.
  • This practice is also prohibited under Victorian consumer law.
  • We are not affiliated with Alinta Energy or any third party conducting such calls.

2. “30% Bill Discount” Scam

Fraudsters are offering fake discounts on utility bills.
Please note:

  • Cheapbills does not pay bills on behalf of customers.
  • We only assist customers in comparing plans from approved providers.
  • Customers always pay their bills directly to their provider.

What Should you do?

If you receive suspicious calls, emails, or messages:

  • Do not share personal or financial information
  • Do not make any payments
  • Report the incident to us immediately
