No not at all, when you switch providers at CheapBills you change your retailer or provider, not the distributor. Your businesses’ distributor is determined by your location and controls all your poles, wires, meters, meter reads, power outages and anything to do with electricity supply to your business. This means you won’t need to change any infrastructure.

Is there a right time to switch business energy providers?

There is no right or wrong time, however an expiring contract, moving locations or rising bills can be a good time to look into changing providers. Any time is a good time to compare your bills and see how much money you can save, we recommend comparing your bills at least one a year.

Do I need to contact my current energy supplier before I switch?

Once you decide to change your energy supplier you need to contact your current provider to ensure you won’t incur any fees or charges. This usually only happens if you are tied to a contract, if that’s the case we recommend waiting to change providers to avoid excess fees.

What if I changed my mind?

That’s okay if you change your mind! Your new provider will give you a ‘cooling-off’ period of ten days, so you have ten days to change your mind and go back to your old provider.
