You’ll be on two tariffs:

  • Consumption tariff: what you pay for energy from the grid (mostly used at night). Look for low off-peak rates.
  • Feed-in tariff (FiT): what you get paid for energy sent back to the grid. Rates vary, compare solar plans to find the best one.

It’s a credit or payment for excess solar power sent to the grid. You’ll either get it as a credit on your bill or a direct payment, depending on your usage and provider.

  • VIC: Minimum FiT set, but rates vary by provider.
