What Sets Powershop Apart?
Powershop gives customers a clear view of how they use energy. Usage can be checked day by day rather than guessed at bill time.
The mobile app is central to the experience. It shows usage, bills, and solar exports in one place. Customers can also choose to pay for energy ahead of time through Powerpacks.
Choice stays flexible. There are no lock in contracts or exit fees, which allows households to try the service without long term commitment.
Extra features round it out. Eligible customers can access free smart meter installation and optional packs that support renewable energy or community projects.
Who Owns Powershop?
Powershop Australia is now part of the Shell Energy Australia group, after being purchased in 2021 from New Zealand’s Meridian Group. The purchase by Shell meant that the company’s Green Electricity rating dropped, however, they remain committed to sustainable practices such as supporting the net-zero target, providing carbon-neutral energy plans and investing in solutions that support decarbonisation.
Where are Powershop Plans Available?
Powershop supplies electricity to households in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, and South Australia. Gas plans are more limited and are currently offered only in Victoria.
Availability can vary by network and postcode. Some plans may not be offered in every suburb, even within these states.Â

The Powershop Energy App
Powershop customers can access the cutting-edge app to help track and control energy usage, access rewards and maximise their savings. The app works with your smart meter to show you when you could be wasting energy, how much energy you’ve used and how much solar power you have generated.
You can also manage your account and purchase PowerPacks for full control of your energy bills.
What Are Powershop Energy PowerPacks?
Access discounts on your Powershop rates by purchasing energy in Powerpacks, which come in various dollar amounts with a range of different discounts to suit your budget and the amount of power you need.Â
You can buy Powerpacks through your online account or the Powershop app. Look out for Special Packs for low Powershop electricity rates to boost your savings, as well as Top Up Packs, GreenPower Packs and Future Packs.
Solar Power Plans
If you have solar panels installed at your home, you can benefit from Powershop Australia’s competitive solar feed-in tariffs and detailed solar insights in the app.Â
When your solar panels are installed, you will most likely get a net meter. A net meter allows you to be paid for the excess energy you generate and export to the grid. With the Powershop app, you can track exactly how much energy you are using and exporting from your solar power system and optimise your solar’s performance.
