CheapBills is serious about helping ALL Australians and now you can support a charity when you compare energy plans with us. Read on to find out about our partnership with icause that lets you support your favourite cause without spending a cent.

At CheapBills, we’ve always been passionate about helping Australians by helping you compare energy plans and find a cheaper deal for your utility bills. Well, now you can raise funds for your favourite cause while you save on your bills, and it’s completely free!

How Can I Donate Without Spending a Cent?

We have partnered with icause to create a brand new way to raise money – Switch and Donate. All you have to do is choose an icause campaign to support, or launch your own crowdfunding campaign, and when you switch electricity and gas or internet providers with CheapBills, we’ll donate 30% of the commission to your nominated campaign.

For example, if you compare energy plans from our preferred energy providers – EnergyAustralia, ActewAGL, CovaU, Tango Energy, Blue NRG and EnergyLocals – and decide to switch electricity and gas plans then $87 will be donated to your chosen campaign. A donation of upwards of $500 can be made by switching multiple different services, such as NBN connections, Pay TV and health insurance.

Who Are Icause?

icause is a brand new Australian crowdfunding platform – with a twist! icause has all the great features you expect from a leading crowdfunding platform, such as a fast and free campaign set-up, a personal dashboard to track and control your campaign and a wide range of donation options, including Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Google Pay or Apple Pay.

But what makes icause special is the twist! We are proud to partner with them to bring you a world-first fundraising method with Switch and Donate, changing the way Australians raise money.

How do I Choose an Icause Campaign to Support?

You might already have a charity, not-for-profit or loved one with an icause campaign that you want to support. If not, simply take a look at the icause directory to decide on the charity, school, sports club, community or fundraising event that you want to support.

When you call CheapBills to compare electricity plans or for an NBN plan comparison, make sure you let us know you would like to Switch and Donate, along with the name of the crowdfunder you want to support.

Can I Launch a CrowdFunding Campaign on Icause?

Yes! Setting up an icause campaign is fast, free, simple and available to EVERYONE. It is perfect for all types of campaigns, big and small, such as charities, communities, schools, sports clubs and individuals.

It only takes a few clicks to launch your campaign. You simply create an icause account using your email address or Facebook, then you will be guided through the rest of the process. You’ll need to have some details ready including your name, DOB, bank account details for the funds to be deposited and your campaign details such as a fundraiser name, personal message, images and videos.

You can create short campaigns to reach a specific goal, plan fundraising events or set up a dedicated page for ongoing fundraising.

The platform does it all for you, with the option to reach your supporters via SMS or email through your icause dashboard, share your fundraiser on social media or use a unique QR code on your posters and flyers to send people straight to your fundraising page.

Your fully customised dashboard and icause app also make it easy to track donations, process payments, engage your followers with updates and manage your fundraiser from anywhere at any time.
