Optus 4G Home Internet is a way of connecting to the internet from home using mobile towers. A modem forms a WiFi network within the property, to which devices such as phones and laptops connect without the use of cables.

The Optus Coverage Commitment enables customers to cancel the 4G Home Internet service for coverage issues, where Optus confirms that the issue relates to the network coverage. This policy provides an exit option when coverage does not meet expectations.

Optus Plus Everyday Basic 4G plans allow download speeds of up to 25 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 8 Mbps. Actual speed depends on the signal strength, how far one is from the tower, demand on the network, placing the modem, and the surroundings.

Optus 4G Home Internet is not supported in some locations due to network limitations. Customers can check eligibility for Optus 5G Home Internet or see fixed-line options through the NBN.

Current Optus 4G Home Internet customers will be able to switch over to Optus 5G Home Internet once the service is available at their address. Changing over can be done without early cancellation fees.

With Optus 4G Home Internet, customers can take their modem to a new address. The service will work at the new premises if Optus 4G network coverage is available at that location.

Optus SubHub is available for eligible Optus customers. The service allows subscription management in one place on one monthly bill. Bundling of multiple subscriptions may save customers money.

Optus 5G Home Internet provides home internet services over the mobile network. The service is currently available in areas of Optus 5G coverage across Australia and does not rely on fixed-line infrastructure.

 

NBN uses the physical cables, while 5G Home Internet utilizes the wireless mobile network. It connects with a modem and does not require fixed-line installation.
